Hey, We’re Back From New York!

We just got back from New York and I didn’t have the chance to blog during our 1 1/2 week vacation. I’m sorry for disappearing for a while. We just had so much fun with friends and family and did so many things that we didn’t have enough time. I know, I know… There’s no excuse for it! I really wanted to share some of our experiences with all of you “as-we-go” but I guess it’s easier said than done.

New York Union SquareWe have so many things to share with you like NYC MTA subway tips, restaurants, drinking, and looking for “secret” spots for tourists. We also have insights on the boroughs and even tips on Port Authority Bus Terminal. There’s just so many things to talk about!

Last week was very hot and humid in the city and it was a little stifling. We were troopers though and decided to push forward and do as many things as we could. Highlights being: Staten Island Ferry, strolling through the Village, going to Connecticut, seeing where my mom and dad got married, and hanging out in Hoboken. Here’s a selfie with that infamous bridge:

Stay tune for day-to-day blog posts. We got so many stories to share!. Like how it rained out of nowhere and we got stuck in the New York City Public Library (which was actually a great experience). Also, how we got to be human sardines in the subway during rush hour; we had no choice as we needed to get somewhere important! Or how the R train stopped running at 9:30 and it took us almost 3 hours to get home in Queens.

We will post recommendations and cool spots in NYC soon. We’re in the process of compiling photos from the trip. I’m definitely having New York City withdrawals!

So please check back soon for more New York City related posts.

Oh man, the R train on various weekends and nights (when it stops running) is the bane of my existence living in Astoria. I so relate. Too painfully relate.

Can’t wait to see what adventures you had in New York City and if you ever come back, let me know and I’ll share my favorite spots! 🙂

Hi Jen! Coming home late from the city can be such a pain since the R train wasn’t running. Had to take the E or 7. I will definitely let you know when we’re coming back. I’m sure we will be back often since I have family there. I hope you’re well!
